Ely Thurmond offers over two decades of strategic consulting and entrepreneurial expertise, primarily focusing on delivering substantial value to clients across diverse industries. As an entrepreneur and business owner, she shares invaluable insights into the daily challenges business owners face, alongside her extensive experience in enhancing brand recognition.
Ely began her career in various professional service firms, developing her skills in marketing and business development. Following this, she played a pivotal role in launching a startup urgent care venture, overseeing marketing, advertising, branding, location acquisition, and patient satisfaction initiatives. She then founded and successfully launched Walt & Finn, a fashion brand for junior boys, which quickly gained traction in country clubs and men’s stores across the US. Building on this experience, she established Thurmond Creative Consulting, where she provided strategic guidance and support to a diverse client base.
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Ely spent the last 23 years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, before relocating to downtown Chicago. This move marked a new chapter in her life, including joining ProCFO Partners. With her son in college pursuing his passion for golf, Ely finds herself attempting to enjoy the sport alongside her other interests in traveling, exploring new restaurants, and experiencing live music.
